Obesity

Summary: A quick read 

Obesity is an ignored and underestimated clinical condition affecting people globally. It is characterized by excessive fat accumulation in the body and is commonly found in children and adults. India is believed to be the third highest in ranking after US and China in terms of obese population. Obesity is of great public health importance due to obesity-related risks factors which involve cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, hypertension (BP), osteoarthritis and kidney diseases. The good news is that obesity is a preventable condition and can be effectively reversed. Lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, physical activities, and surgeries are implemented to rectify patients suffering from chronic obesity.
